that may be true but i've heard of people melting them at 1200*,not common,but i'd say 1500*is generally pushing it.

Aluminum melts at 1250F - short bursts above that are ok - but you dont want to run long above 1250

exactly,that's why i don't need something that reads to 2000*if mine burys 1500*i'm lettin off.alot of people especially newcomers find comfort in the fact that it's on the gauge,like if it's runnin @ 2000*it's alright cause it's on the gauge.
