is between 14 and 15 at idle, and i havnt seen it drop below 12 @ WOT
also, PTEX #2, what is it and what color do i need to ask for assuming it comes in diff. colors |
PTEX = permatex. you will want the blue stuff. there is oil rated, diesel fuel rated and temperature rated products. comes in small toothpaste sized tubes and it pretty cheap - $3 to $6 give or take.
lasts a long time and works great for all sorts of things on the truck. |

NO RTV is the grey stuff. blue is what I've got here. just ask for #2 and you'll get the right thing.
|
NO...Permatex has different colors of RTV....blue, red, black, clear, coopper, grey. We are not talking about RTV (RTV is generally for making gaskets) were talking about thread sealant for pipe fittings.
Take your pick: http://www.permatex.com/products/aut...ad_Sealant.htm http://www.permatex.com/products/aut...ad_Sealant.htm http://www.permatex.com/products/aut...t_Compound.htm http://www.permatex.com/products/aut..._with_PTFE.htm #2 stuff : http://www.permatex.com/products/aut..._2_Sealant.htm |
Fine. That said the sealant that I have in my hands (well ok, it's in the shop) comes in a blue tube, has a #2 on it and is blue in colour - works great, doesn't harden, doesn't clump and is great with diesel fuel.
|
Weird - OK you win but....the stuff I have says #2 and its black....
Must be different cause I bought it at UFA in Hanna....:puke: I used the liquid teflon cause I got it at work and it was free....thanks fATCO:up: Theres lots of different thread sealants that can be used...teflon tape is a bad choice. |
Exactly, whatever you choose - don't use tape! :c:
|
they gave me threadlocker........not sure if this is worth a crap or not
|
Ok so other then that are you still leaking fuel back by the tank?
