Time for a Turbo
It is time for me to buy a different turbo. Thought I would ask on here and see what some of you guys and gals might suggest. I want to do twins but don't have the funds right now to go that way but, would like to get a turbo that i could use in a twin setup later. Its a daily driver and I do some towing with it also. Any suggestions would be great!

Phat Shaft 62/14 or Super Phat Shaft 62/14 :U:

200hp injectors? hope you havent been running that w/ the stock turbo...200's on a 62 are gonna get hot, espically if you are towing...go w/ the 62/14 so you can go straight to twins and when you tow, turn the box off so it doesnt get too toasty

He'd just have to watch the EGTs is all,I've thought about getting some 200s myself:yeah:

150 is the absolute highest to go stock turbo...a 62 is the perfect match for 150's

Look into the Super B charger......57/65/14 and when you get the funds go with the BD compound kit! Either way....head towards a 62/14 if you are going to go ahead with the compounds and are doing any bit of towing!

go with a s300 based turbo like what I am running as there is a truck the shop did using my same turbo as the top and it makes an easy 530hp and very towable and clean.

What kind of twins do you want to run?
If it's a smaller/ fast spooling set I would go 62/65-14 over S400. Little bigger power 62/71-14 over S400 or S480. The 12cm housing would be a bit faster spooling, but would not be the best choice in compounds. Dave |
I've benn thinking about a s300 in a 62/71-14 config. I've heard the s300 is a very reliable turbo. With the stock turbo I just watch the egt guage and when it hits 1300 I let out.
