CFM+ To do or not to do
So will this really help my truck!?!?! I am needing to know. A few ppl say no. A few ppl say yes. So what else can you tell me about it... I got the adrenaline and a 'few' gauges(fuel press thanks to LUKES!!), intake, fass, thats kinda stuff....

On the VP44 Cummins it is more for looks than function. If your going to upgrade get the ATS ArcFlow.
|
Well im looking for my next purchase.... guess its gonna have to be injectors... but OUCH! id rather not spend a grand for everything... thats labor included..
|
What size injectors you looking for Jay?
|
well i guess 100hp. but im just trying to make sure I have enough air to suppport everything. course Ill need a turbo later. But im hoping to get away with not having to get one at least for a little while...
|
I would probably get some RV275's then when you get a Turbo jump up to some 150's or even 200's.

Hey Luke, why do you prefer ATS? just curious.
Another thing: it's interesting how the CFM+, and ATS and AFE for that matter, can give pretty significant gains on CR trucks around the 1900 rpm range (Tri-Valley Diesel in NorCal did a few dyno runs with different manifolds) but not on VP44 trucks? Can anyone say why that is? Thanks, Mike. |
yea I would like to know as well. Cuz I know a few guys who have VP trucks and are running the ATS one.
|
Personally, the CFM+ or other intake horn is not something I will do until I am completely out of modifications, the gains just aren't enough in general.

Its because the factory flows good already on the VP44 trucks.
