Default rpms on vp

whats safe for rpms? how high can I go without dammage to the valve train? how many rpms are you guies running?

Bounced it off the redline a few times, and been very close many more times, and havn't broke anything...YET!!!

If you want to be absolutely safe as far as valvetrain goes, 3200 max. That being said, many have done 4000 on stock springs. If you do it and keep doing it, its a ticking time bomb.

i was floating valves at about 3600 with over 50psi boost. if the boost was lower it would have been ok at that rpm.

the most I have hit is 3400 with the hot unlock on the edge but with this new turbo I need more rpms it seems. Thanks

i pull 4k sled pulling because im a manual i stay in 4th gear and let it eat! ive done about 25 pulls like this and still no problems. (knock on wood).. haha

Run it out till you hear them start to float then from now on dont go higher than that. I didnt have any problems with 3600rpm and 50psi.

My truck hit 3495 on the dyno is thats a bad thing?

Most I saw with a VP44 was 4200RPM's but I have F1 springs.
