650 hp build. 94 12v auto
I am building a 12v for my 95 f350 crewcab. I am looking to get around 650hp and try and get around 18mpg. That being said i think i need.
Port head, head studs, .020 pistons, new rings, bearings, lazer cut delivery valves, ddp? Unsure what size injectors, twin turbos, or single turbo? O ring head, Aftermarket Intercooler, Exhaust manifold upgrade, Thinking about bigger stainless fuel lines, Pump flow benched unsure what cc to set it at? Fluid dampener, 4k unsure brand rpm springs, |
na is the ford straight shift or auto too? wat motor a first gen motor intercooled or no?
|
It is a ppump motor. Going with a fully built 47rh auto
|
oh i see 94 lol never mind no need to port your head either. id say a 0 plate afc mods bump timing 5x14 injectors a cam and a 64/71/12 u would HAVE A few horses. u wanna go to 650hp thats a few thousand dollars im gettin ready to drop around 3000 and still not have supportin mods to handle it yet but be close to 600 then dyno it and try again then buy a dual disc clutch

If you port the head shouldn't you port the exhaust manifold and the exhaust side on the turbo for better air flow
Brandon |
theres no sense in it from wat i hear till ur way up there. but yeah have that pump took to a shop thats well known and tell them wat u want as far as hp and also tell them wat turbo ur gonna run and fuel plate and bla bla bla and they should get it close to work with everything to make 650 hp

Port head, If you have the head off and extra coin, if not a good cam will help head studs, yes .020 pistons, if you have the $$$ but you can hit 650 with stock pistons new rings, bearings, unless the there bad not needed lazer cut delivery valves, ddp? comps from sdx Unsure what size injectors, SDX 5x.014's sac style twin turbos, or single turbo? twins O ring head, yes Aftermarket Intercooler, stock one will work just fine Exhaust manifold upgrade, Thinking about bigger stainless fuel lines, keep the stock size line Pump flow benched unsure what cc to set it at? have them max it out and you can adjust fuel with the plate Fluid dampener, if you have the extra $$$ 4k unsure brand rpm springs, get it benched with a set of 5ks |
were would a good place to send a pump and what would it cost to have put on a bench and maxed out
|
Pm cumminunglued I think he has a guy that is pretty reasonable.
|
citi diesel its in north knoxville or acme is good with pumps

CDS Scheid diesel |
you can get almost 100 horse from your pump grind your plate down to a #0 and turn the starwheel all the way. If you look at either the diesel power magazine or diesel world one of them in there last article they dynoed there 95 before and after pump work and they gained almost 100 horse for no cost:c:

what is the average cost to have a pump maxed?>
|
couple hundred
|
and if u get it maxed all ur fuel control will be with a fuel plate
|
650 hp build. 94 12v auto
So if you max out the pump you need a fuel plate? What will happen if you take it out?
Brandon |
idk ask dave

what exactly is done to a pump when they max the cc's of fuel on it.
|
u would have to ask a diesel shop that does pumps or dave ha ha ha

interesting. thanks for the info.
|
We have a place that can do it for ya
|
i want to spend about 500 on my pump tops without the dvs cost. i want it to be mean ha ha how much would it be to put a different cam in it and adjust all barrels and advance timing to 22 or more or less if need be
|
you can have it flowed and benched for under 500 ... the cam swap is gonna cost more than that tho. You already have the good cam in the pump as it is so swaping it out is really not needed for a street truck
|
If you are going to change the pistons, you need to talk with SDX about what piston/injector combo will work best together. The P pumped 12V have a pretty narrow bowl in them stock, and there are other bowl designs that could work better with aftermarket injector spray patterns, depending on the injector.
X200000 on the cam. I really can't stress enough what a good cam can do. Much faster spool, more airflow through the motor means cooler EGTs, better mileage, less smoke. While its apart, do yourself a favor and have a machine shop balance the rotating assembly and polish the crank. Its only a couple of bucks and SOOOOOO worth it........ |
By taking out the fuel plate and cramming the star wheel, what kind of gas economy would he be looking at? If he is shooting for 18, without doing anything else where would he be

$1800 for injectors! thats crazy ... 300 for full cuts is way too much as well
IMO do some reading on here before you go and drop a ton of money in a motor. |
LOL thats 2 sets of injectors. And i am just seeing what parts i need that are better then others.
|
holy crap thats alot of money i can build 800hp for that lol dude take your pump to a shop for a couple hundred they flow it and bench it to watever cc u want and dont get laser cuts unless its a puller get 181's. get your timing set and a 4gsk put in it too. get 5x16's or 5x14's dependin on wat turbo or wat u haul etc. u dont need a timing kit the shop can do all that for around 400 plus max the pump out and set ur afc etc. then get sdx injectors for around 500 then if u have a hx35 get a ht3b for twins

Maaan, that's a lot of money for 650hp. :nshock: The engine parts in my sig were under $5000, including the twins. Check out SDX or Contagious for injectors and DVs. Crazy Carl will give you a good price on twins (you'll be much happier than that single). Don't forget to allow a good chunk of change to get the horsepower to the ground too!
Spend the bucks if it's burning a hole in your pocket, none of it is really a waste of money. Well..... DDP4s for $900 is. Ohhh, almost forgot. You're going to need a good fuel pump too! |
