Sorry but thats not the correct place to put the sensor. Youre absolutely sure its in contact with transmission fluid?

You want it in the hot line (preferrably), or in the pan. Also for the OP - 190 deg in the pan is getting warm. I would check it for color/smell changes.

IT only spiked to that when I was in the traffic jam. Running down the road it would average 165-170. Is that ok or not?

Dr. Evil 06-15-2010 02:35 PM

Oh thats ok

I just dont wanna mess my tranny up.. Seems there are alot of different opinions out there about tranny temps...

I added an extra inline cooler on my 7.3 brought my temps down alot. Used to hit 180 in my 140 hp tune now it never goes over 125 or so. Had to beat on it to get 180 but it runs really cool now. This is the one I added http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=205. Im sure it will fit in the front of the truck my brother put a torqshift from a 6.0 in his and we got the 6.0 cooler stuffed in the front. Had to trim some plastic on the bumper but its in.

Im thinkin that putting an auxilary cooler is my best bet. I tow alot and dont want my temps to rise too high. So to be on the safe side imma add another cooler

Kyle_KleinSS 06-15-2010 03:05 PM

Look into the one I posted did wonders for me. It should fir right in front and its a good price. My daily driver tune would get to 150 easily. Never hits over 125 no matter what tune I use.

Would it work if i just put a fan over my existing tranny cooler that was thermostaticly controled?:humm:

If you just want a little insurance, a Maghytec deep pan is a nice upgrade. Helps with cooling and adds a couple quarts capacity which helps with cooling as well and also extends the oil change interval safety margin.

Yea i thought about the deep pan. I have an extra electric fan laying around and figured it would help if I just put it infront of the factory cooler...
