12V & FASS
Would a fass 95 off an 03 work on my 97?
Thanks Adam:da2: |
97 has a mechanical pump driven off the cam lobe.
why would you wanna go electric? |
He might want to eliminate changing that OEM fuel filter...what a PITA
If you are doing this for performance reasons - you really dont need it until your get 600-700 hp or so. They do make FASS units specifically for 12V's but Im not too sure what the difference is. You can posts in the FASS forum and Dan from DPP will be able to answer any/all of your questions. |
i've been wondering the same thing. it'd be nice to have the pump back by the tank where it should have been in the first place.
|
Well I guess to answer the question.......yes the Fass will work here easy...only diff is how it hooks to the injection pump
machanical vs.electric though |
well it shouldn't be to hard to figure out how to hook it up to the pump.
now.... would it be worth it? or is the 12V lift pump just as good if not better? |
Fass is a very good produck but cam lobe driven mechanical would be my choice....................if I had a lobe on my cam that is
|
just take it out and put a wad of duct tape on the cam where it's supposed to go.
i get tired of having to always figure out the easy stuff for you. |
Johnney yer common sense will take you far in this world
you prolly need to go in to some university |
don't be hatin' 'cause i always got the good ideas.
try it. if it don't work i've owe ya 5 bucks. |
Im think you are incorrect Whitmore...If he wants to eliminate the OE lift pump on a 12V...hes going to need a FASS that will put out 40 psi or more. I dont know for sure, but I do not believe the third gen version will put out that much pressure.
|
40 psi? is that how much feeds a P7100?
|
Yup, as long as the LP is good - its anywhere from 20 psi up to 40 or so...
|
yup 25 or so at idle and it goes up from there when you stand on the pedal.
|
hmm ok thanks guys i guess ill post this question up in the fass section and see what they say.:U:
