aluminum (which is what you're pistins are made out of)melts at 1250*not a good idea to run it at 1200*for long!!i've heard of them melting at less temps.

ive got that turbo upgrade a new clutch and intake coming so hopefully it will run cooler and i wont have the clutch slipping left and right

i seem to have the same problem pulling hills empty at a altitude of 3500 to 4000 ft. 900 to 1200 degrees going 65 in o/d. if i have o/d off it is around 800 to 900 going 55. i guess the air is less dense that high up. i wonder what others are running at in mountain passes. in the flats it is 700 to 800 going 70 to 75.

yeah, i pull a lot of mountain passes with heavy loads. i just drop it in 4th and pull around 2800 going 60-65 that way i can keep the exhaust temp down below 1100-1200

more air or water

how much does it drop running the water set up? i would hate to see the temps pulling a heavy load over the mountain!!!

yeah, i really need that intake and turbo upgrade to show up becase with this new pickup it will pull 1,400-1,600 degrees pretty damn easy with the trailer hooked up to her. so i have to drive the thing like a old grandpa
