Rack Plug
Hi, can anyone tell-show me where this 2095 rack plug-mack plug that I have been reading about goes? Thanks:U:
i think it goes on the front of the pump so that the fuel rack can go forward more
yep it goes on the front of the pump in between the pump and the timing case. to install it u either need to slide the pump back or grind the timing case, i ground the timing case... dont be scared to grind... theres a lot more material that u think, i gained 3 lbs of boost at top end... thats about all i noticed.

my vote is to slide the pump ... the rack plug wont do anything if you plate/afc set up wont allow it
ya definatly slide the pump take the 4 bolts off and it slides back about an inch, just enugh to put the plug in
If you slide the pump, do you have to adjust the timming? cause alot of guys don't have the tools or know how to adjust the timming in these trucks...
no you dont have to re-time the pump your just sliding the pump back the gears still stay in the same position
If your going to break the pump shaft loose and slide the pump out for install of the rack plug then I would HIGHLY recommend you time the motor again.Better to do it no while your there with the truck apart than have to go back and redo it.
Also... If you do this rack plug install this way,by sliding the pump out, then you should get a new pump washer to ensure that the timing will not slip once you have timed the motor again.By reusing the same washer you are asking for nothing but problems......Andy |
