plate issues
 

ok while i had the pump off the engine i figured no would be the time to go threw it top to bottom. i installed my new 0 fuel plate and noticed the governor arm was riht at the base of the plate, it looked like it had room to slide and not dive under, hopefully. i was wondering were the governow arm should be on the plate and how th adjust the arm, i forgot were the damn adjustments are made:argh:

IIRC you want to take the cover off and adjust the left screw. Not sure which way lifts or raises it tho. :argh:

But here's a pic of where you adjust it...

Yeah, its the back of the pump under the cover, there are 3 bolts there, make sure you get the right one :argh:... But from the sounds of it, your arm is right where it should be. On a 0 plate as long as its not diving under you'll be fine. And if its the stock plate re-ground you shouldn't have to adjust it at all.

i threw a 5 plate in way back when now im doing the 0 plate and it is a stock plate ground to a 0 profile

As long as your not going under the plate its fine.

the arm is flush with the bottom of the plate right now and when i pull the throttle lever it dont go under

Do you have your shut off pulled up when you do this?

I read somewhere of a guys setting his with it running. He stated that the arm is higher when its running. Not sure if its true just what I heard.

i did have the selinoid in the up/on position when i looked at it

It will be higher when its running, the plate it attached to the Gov springs somehow, so as you get to higher RPM's it rides up the plate and adds more fuel. Of course, the other arm of the AFC is what the gov arm will hit first, but with the AFC cover off you don't see it.
