P-7100 in cab tuner?

http://dieselautopower.com/blog/p7100-incab-tuner/

Seems interesting. Any thoughts?

there aren't any tuners for a 12valve.
it's mechanical fuel injection, instead of elect. fuel injection.
not possible

They haven't hit the market yet, so the price is a little high to just jump on without any reviews. So I suppose the waiting game begins!

hmmm... that doesn't make sense to me... a tuner on a mechanical pump.... the pump is internally timed and the only power gains are through changes to the lift pumps ... would be interesting if it could happen though....

Did you look at the link?

This thing seems like it could be a cheap piece of junk, or perhaps the greatest thing ever. I'd like to see some real world testing done on it.

All it appears to do is move the fuel plate back and forth. My knee-jerk reaction to this is that it's a clever new way to sell plates. Regardless, the most interesting facet to it is that someone thought it was worth bringing to market nearly two decades after the last truck with a p-pump left the dealership. Hell, nobody is making new mod parts for my nine year old ZX10R Ninja, but soon I'll be able to get a plate slider for my seventeen year old Dodge! Awesome.

BUMP :argh: Well, has anyone used this thing yet?

For the money, I think I'd go with the AFC Live version. Some folks on here have some experience with that one at this point, and the feedback seems positive.

Afc live is far superior than the plate thing, plus about half the cost. I've installed one on the my buddies guinea pig truck and it works great. If you need a throttle stop just leave your plate in full forward and you can tune it All the way up to that. Or follow the instructions and use no plate and have more fuel avalible. The winning part of afc live is the afc control which is where most people lose their power with improper tuning. This way as long as your not a smoke bro you can fine tune the truck on the fly. It can tune the plate and afc at the same time.

The only reason I didn't comment further is because I don't actually have one, but I definitely see an AFC Live in my future, probably in the spring when it starts warming up and I can't tow cool anymore.
