U-Joints..quality not quantity
Hey guys, well I was going over the truck today and I found my front u joints are getting some slop. I had a hunch that I was going to find this as I have been getting a very slight humm around 70mph. My question to you is what u joints are you running? Id like to get some greasable ones to save myself down the road. I perform regular svc on my truck so is like to keep them lubed. My truck is a 05' 2500 ccsb. Thanks again.

Are you talking on the front drive shaft, or the front axles??
|
Front axles. Sorry bout :argh:

May want to check and see if Napa carries them. They'll be a Precision brand universal. If Napa shows a listing, but none can be found, your probably gonna be stuck spending some moolah at the dealer. :ouch:
|
I'll check with napa. I'm an automotive tech and their our biggest supplier. Didn't even think of them. Thank you. Ill still be taking suggestions ad ill be doin this myself.

Napa part number 464 is for the one ton axle. Greasable heavy duty. I was just there doing ball joints and axle u joints.
|
Thanks for the input. I will be checking.with napa tomorrow.

Greasables are not necessarily better. 95% of them do not get grease all the way through. They can actually fail faster than the greaseless.
|
I've read that if you don't get greasable, take the caps off and add a little more grease
. Is that ideal or just go with a good brand sealed? |
Rock Auto carries the precision 464's also. That is where I got mine.
