fuel filter/ Injectors

Could a very dirty fuel filter during a diagnostic/computer test show that the injectors are bad, when in fact it is really just the dirty fuel filter???

What kind of "test" are we talking here?

i think i know what you are saying. what we have done in the past is check pressure before pump then after pump and that should answer all your questions.

AlI know i Itook the truck in to have the injectors checked, because it had been hard to start. They checked the injectors with a computer and said the injectors were back (5 out of 6). Just for grins when I came home I changed the fuel filter, since changing the fuel filter I have had no other problems. Could the injectors still be bad??:s:

How many miles on them? Bad in what way? return flow rate or? they may be full of it and just trying to make a quick grand! PLUS parts!!

125,000 miles on th truck and injectors (factory injectors). They didn't say in what way the injectos are bad. Only thing I was told is that 5 of the 6 were bad. one looked like it had been replaced recently ( which all are factory injectors). Back to the original question Could a plugged/dirty fuel filter have given a false diagnosis?
