Front end garbage

My 05 dodge dually only has 57k miles on it and I am currently putting ujoints in the front end and ball joints top and bottom both sides in it.:argh: What in the world would cause them to wear so quickly?

Do you have a big lift or large tires? I would think that could strain the parts.

My 01 upper fell out, my 04 were bad, and both were stock. Gota love Dodged front ends.

get used to replacing the front end every 60k miles:tu: oh and I would check your wheel bearings too:c:

Its all stock as far as suspension goes. I traded my 01 cummins in on this one and I never once had a lick of trouble out of its front end. I reckon its just one of them things.

BriteWhiteRam 02-20-2011 01:25 PM

its very common on the 03-up dodges to eat u-joints, ball joints, tie-rod ends, and wheel bearings, its not un-reasonable to replace them every 60-100k miles:pca1:

i have replaced axle joints twice on my 08. :s:

Any use of 4x4 while turning that causes the truck to jump or bind will cause premature failure. I'm talking one or two incidents where you have binding.

I replaced the front U joints and ball joints @ 70k with moog greaseables. Haven't had any trouble since and I'm at 124k now. I think the stock ones being nongreasable wear quicker. Anybody else still replacing after installing greaseable units?

mysterync 02-20-2011 07:09 PM

We only install moog or mopar and have had great success with the Moog Products.
I've yet to replace any moog parts at an unreasonable interval
