Straight pipe or ????

Ok, well got my truck wednesday finally, put in up on a lift today and seen it is completely nothing but 4" pipe turbo back to a 6" tip, Now would i gain better MPG's, HP and Torque with a silverline or a mbrp exhaust system?

And if so which one would do me better for my truck? Goin for a single 4" out the passenger rear, just like stock except with a nice big 8" tip.

And would 5" be better than a 4"? i read a post about it and was a little confused about the differences. But any input would be greatly appreciated.

An 8 foot tip is a little big and 4 foot pipe too lol if you already have it and its fine why buy new? a 5 inch will give you no advantage over a 4 inch. MBRP seems to be the preffered company if you do decide to go new.

lol yea just noticed, my shift key isn't wanting to work to well for me.

And what i was trying to get an answer to was the advantages of a full exhaust system compared to just straight pipe.

Aftermarket exhaust flow much better due to mandrel bends.

MBRP is a great system. The mandrel bends on a aftermarket exhaust flow alot better than the muffler shops cause the pipe is choked down in the bends.

I had mbrp and now silverline. Both are great systems.

I prefer the 5" for one reason and one reason alone. Pulling! We have one trailer that weighs roughly 25,000 to 30,000, so it's nice to keep the egts down. But for just driving 4 inch would be preferable, it helps it warm up quicker, and unless you are floorboarded ALL the time or pulling, you are only goin to be pushing so much exhaust.

mbrp 5" :rocking:
