help me fix my truck

ok this has been going on for a while.

my truck
04.5 ram
auto trans
turbo back 5" exhaust
AFE air intake.
BD GT
If going slow (under 10mph, although it will feel like it is still looking for a gear all the way up to 30mph, but it is more noticable at lower speeds) the truck will feel like it is hunting for a gear, particularly 1st and 2nd. If I shift into 1st via the shift column the problem goes away. The rpms do not change at all. I road with the dealer and verified that it isnt searching for a gear as it stays in 2nd. SO they replaced the TPS and lever bracket for the throttle controls. Problem still existed.
Took it back to the dealer and they dont even know where to begin because everything they check looks good and there arent any codes.
It seems to get more violent the higher the level on the programmer I go

any help is appreciated

Start saving for an aftermarket trans... You may be able to adjust your front band as a band-aid for a bit.

Bill, try checking on this

That seems like it would be it. Now, if the dealer hooked the computer to it wouldn't it show that the tranny is is going back and forth in the gears? Wouldn't the rpms jump around?

you would think...... i'd hit them up on the TSB and see what they say about it.

dealer tries the exact same thing heer... mine does the occasional hunt, more more often it just hangs onto 1st and second and revs into oblivion under no load casual driving around town. I've video'd it happening 4 times on my phone, but havent taken it back.

Seems like dealers dont really care if its functional at all.

I called the dealer and said I might have the fix. I gave him the TSB number and he faxed me the paper work for when my truck was in the shop in may for this problem and that solenoid and pressure transducer were replaced. When I got it back I didnt notice it for about 45 miles. but when I got home it did it while I went up my drive way.

could a snap rng came off or something?

I dont know anything about the tsbs but mine had a "kickdown band" and solenoid pack replaced, and seemed like it was all better for the 10mi trip home, jumped in the truck a few hrs later, and its hunting, hard shifts, hanging on to gears etc.

I am going to take it by mon, but really dont have the highest hopes anyone is going to do anything fo rme. I'm not confident its ready for tow.

I would look into the solenoids. That seems to be a common problem with them. Also I would try talking to someone that is very knowledgeable about them. My first suggestion is call Dave Goerend @ Goerend transmission. His website is goerend.com . He is the first person I would call if I was having a tranny problem.
