Problems With #6 Cylinder
Hey all,
Like it says. Bad misfire started today. Hand on manifold, #6 not very warm while others are hot. Scanned it and PO 306 shows up. Truck still has warrenty on it so they can fix it, but can anything be done by me?? Is there anyway to test to see if it's electrical prob or fueling issue?? Checked the oil and it hasn't come up on the stick any, so far. Fuel filter is new. Thanks Steve |
sounds like #6 injector is bad
take it to dealer and drive it as least as you can also start using fuel additive in every tank of fuel...............added lubricity is manditory with the fuel we have now |
Whit, Kinda what I was thinkin about the injector:sad:. It sounds like a super stock tractor starting to build boost at the pulls. My co-op is still selling low sulfer. ULSD hasn't made it yet. But, I still treat every tank. All last year I used Stanadyne. This year switched to Howes meaner power cleaner & Howes diesel treat.
Thanks much, appreciate the reply:c: Steve |
Steve......I had a friend who lost #6 on his common rail ..he kept driving it and ruined #6 to the point they had to replace the motor................so get it fixed asap huh

This truck is on it's 3rd motor already at 58,000 miles:w2:. Not sure if the "new owners" group wants to put another one in.
I'm looking for a loaner/rental and a truck trailer to tow me in. Anyone live around Watertown, WI????? Steve |
yes that happened to my 05 # 6 injector messed up, tried to replace it and the new one had a check ball stuck. It stayed open, truck wouldn't even start couldn't build rail pressure. but a new fixed that.
