On my early 04 3500 (auto) you can actually hear it quite well surprisingly, especially when it shifts through the last 2 gears...all i really have is intake and exhaust and pretty sure the silencer ring is MIA

Ya I'm thinking this guy has the wrong intake setup for hearing the noise good

DUKE1980 04-07-2010 09:00 AM

is there anyone that has an 04.5 - 07(electronic wastegate) that makes the noise were talking about here?

Mine makes it from time to time when I am screwing around with a heavy foot but can't seem to get it to happen on demand.

This is very curious! hehe. I wonder what the heck is going on that you dont have that noise?

DUKE1980 04-08-2010 01:58 PM

Well i know barking the turbo will make the noise but then its followed by the chatter noise & terrible for the turbo. Thats not how youre getting that noise out of your truck is it sks-75? Im very curious too because like i said on my 98 12v all i had to do was get the rpms up & turbo spooling good & then as soon as i hit the clutch to shift a loud woooosh, well more like bwooosh, bout like hearing the airbrakes on some trucks. Just so you all know though my 98 didnt do that even when i had straightpipe 4" exhaust, k&n intake & a TST fuelplate in it. It wasnt until jeff garmon got ahold of the fuel pump & put the 4k spring kit & took all the fuel restrictions out & played with the timing & of course the turbo was putting out more. Thats when my 12v started doing it. but this 05 i have is putting out prob bout the same power but its definately quiet between shifts. its loud as hell leading up to the shift bout like a F16 with the intake i have on it. i dunno. im stumped really

Honestly, I just took my silencer ring out TODAY, and am thinking the same exact noise you are reffering to might be due to the silencer. But you said you took that out already. A silencer-less shift is MUCH different sounding than one w/ a silencer installed

DUKE1980 04-08-2010 05:53 PM

Well it wouldnt be that cuz my old truck still had the silencer in it & its the one that talked to me while i was shifting. My 05 has the silencer out & has a much more opened intake but dosent do it. Im wondering if sks-75 may be barking his if it only happens when hes playing around cuz the noise im talking about is easy to make the truck do if itll do it. Yall prob think im crazy at this point haha but id love to figure this out

ill take some pics of my intake so you can see what im working with

Ok snap some pics and I'll take a look. I'm getting irratated now though; I want to know what the heck you are talking about!

bobcat67 04-08-2010 06:42 PM

the he351 that is on your truck has an internal wastegate, i could be wrong but i'm pretty sure i'm not
