Installed a new Belt... Squeaks like crazy now~!

Anyone ever had a squeaking belt that wouldn't stop... Its on correct. I've Degreased it, Washed it, Belt dressing a little, Belt Dressing a lot... it's driving me mad!

Any suggestions?

try sprayin a little WD-40 on it sometimes that seems to help have done that alot on belts helps alot better than the belt dressing the dressing seems to just gunk stuff up. Give the WD-40 a shot may work for ya

What brand belt did you buy? The cheap crap belts do this! Try a gator back or Cummins belt! The WD-40 Just makes it slippery for a while then it's back Try a can of brake clean to clean it off then try to see if it's the belt or a bearing going bad. Take the belt of and spin everything see if something hangs up or is rough everything should turn smoothly!

At this point there is a chemical cocktail on the belt... I will Degrease it again and try the Brake Cleaner. I think Electrical cleaner works the same. I even thought about strategically placing a little sand on the belt to try to scuff it a bit...

Please read my post and answer my questions and try what I asked. Don't put sand on it! That will just find it's way to your bearings! No worries!:pca1:

Simple stuff here. You have a bearing goin bad in somethin. The old belt was stretched enough that it didn't put any tension on the bad pulley and now that it's a new belt it's puttin tension on it again. I've always found the simplest way to find the bad bearing is with those stupid little $2 mechanic stethoscopes. Withe truck runnin, very carefully work the probed from pulley to pulley, when you find the right one you'll know, no guessin required.
