You are posting this on a PUBLIC forum! How much do you want to bet someone reading this is dumb enough to try it incorrectly?
I didnt think of it that way, just trying to help. maybe this will clear it up alittle for those who try it. Hold the wire brush lightly with your fingers at the very end (opposite of the wire side) so if it grabs the belt it will pull the brush out of your fingers and not take your hand with it, place the wire side of brush on belt, gently pushing against it. makeing sure your hand is NOT inside of the belt, the head of the brush should be the only part near the belt.

Try a Goodyear gatorback it fixed my squeak after spending hundreds of dollars searching for the problem,And numerous belts and component changes.
