Road tested Air dog
 

The only big difference I noticed as I haven't got a programmer yet is that when the DTE gauge shows 8 miles to go and you take a sharp turn the fuel is going to run away from the pick up tube and I was getting fuel when it hit 0 the truck quit before I could get the pump going, but after I finished pumping I bumped the key and the pump primed up and it cranked a few more times than normal then fired right up, so I use to be able to hit 0 and drive for a white, not that I wanted to, but some areas in Florida don't have diesel pumps.

But then the stock use the housing to hold fuel to keep the pump cool , so it held fuel in a turn, now I going to start paying more attention to the DTE as it's not fooling anymore, zero means zero.

But that was the first time I been that low as I put 800 miles on since I put the pump on 2 weeks ago and every thing is fine without a drip to be seen, so I guess I got it right the first time Thank God

May I ask why you run the fuel level down that far??

Don't have diesel in all areas for one and I wanted to see where out was with the new pick up tube, I had a gallon of fuel with me and I was close to home so I could call for help if I needed, so now I know, but if I out of town on the road I won't go lower than a 1/8 tank and as a few area's in Florida you could be 45 minutes from finding fuel, so I watch the DTE and need to be able to trust it.

Plus your truck should start easier - my 98.5 starts about twice as fast during cranking and my mileage is up a little.

Also- remember the lift pump pumping fuel excess fuel lubricates the injection pump so in effect dont run your fuel down low as you would have less fuel to cool the pump and your fuel will get hot.

My fuel pump is Air Cooled

It does pump a lot of extra fuel, but the fuel isn't cooling the Air dog much, lube yes

well thats good info did you get the air dog 150 with the air dog2 it does awa with the 1/4 tank problem i can still ride till way past empty but i dont do that often:U:

I don't think I got a Air Dog 2 but don't have a problem till close to empty, the DTE said 8 miles till empty when I uncovered the pick up tube and then drove 5 miles to get fuel and sat in fast idle for 5 minutes waiting for my turn to keep the A/C going cold.
