your feed tube was not seated in the injector correctly

Jkobie 10-30-2016 11:21 PM

That's what I'm thinking to. But I've even loosened it and retightened and still leaking. The tube is good and doesn't have marks around the end of them. No cracks. I mean it started 8k miles after the rebuild. So maybe a tiny Crack that's to small for the eye to see...:argh:

It could be a tiny crack. Tightening and loosening it won't fix the problem of a tube not being seated correctly. You need to seat the tube correctly then torque to spec.

How do you seat it correctly? I did the whole sequence of tightening the injector then loosen it, then tighten tube to one torque then injector to the 2 separate torque. Am I forgetting something

Put the injector in, put the feed tube in. Then twist the injector and you can see and feel the feed tube move. If you don't feel the tube move equally with then injector, then its not set correctly.

Ya that's what I did after I seen it leaking thinking maybe it got loose somehow. But that wasn't he case. Think a new injector tube would solve the problem? New tube and go ahead and replace the o ring on the injector

You could swap the tube with one next to it and see if the problem follows the tube. Also make sure there is no debris keeping the tube from going in all the way.

That's what I'm gonna do. I never thought about switching it with one that's not leaking. Never crossed my mind. But I will update you when I can do that. Probably won't be till the weekend

Ok update on the problem. Bought a new tube and o-ring for injector. Put some jelly on o-ring retightened everything in correct sequence and still leaking like a son of a bitch. So only two things I think can be wrong. The return line between copper washer and o-ring is clogged between cylinder 1 and the return hose or the injector itself is scarred and the injector is the reason it's not seating correctly

Cracked injector! Just buy a spare put it in and see!
