Disagree on the led bad for housing post

Here's a picture of LED's on a 2015 Chevy headlight https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.die...5bdd0521fa.png

I had LEDs in my truck before i retrofitted them. Although they were brighter, i had less light coverage/useable light on the ground compared to halogen. I only drove a few times at night before i decided to get rid of my LEDs and i discovered retrofitting. You cannot beat the light output in a retrofit. If you look on left of your pic you can see the glare that is going to be in oncoming drivers faces. Also that doesn't look like a normal halogen on the passenger side. That bulb looks like it's about to die. If you look at where the hot spot is on the LED, its s half circle and not on top center where you want it. There is big gap where you need the hot spot. That is gonna cause less distance you get out of the LEDs.

I put projectors in mine with led bulbs about a year ago, after I got them adjusted right, they pretty much kick-ass.

that blob of light is LEDs in my factory headlight housings. The nice wide, crisp, bright light is projectors with HIDs. If your projectors are made for HIDs, HIDs will perform much better then LEDs.

Might give HID a shot, they can packages with led so that's what got installed, and they perform great. I just don't care for the cut off line much, but dim is 100 times better than the OEM brights.

The flickering of the LED lights for this model range is the same issue that you have with some older dimmers on household voltage when using LED lights. LED lights, whether in the house or car, are "solid state" devices and run on DC current. In the car, they use a lot less power than HID headlights. So in either case, it's an issue with a transformer. Also, all LED lights actually flicker, it's just that they are usually designed to flicker faster than the eye can discern--like at 120 Hz. So if the lights are flickering slowly enough that you notice them, or even that they seem to be turning completely off and on at a slower rate, it either means that the other electronics/controls in the circuit don't know what to do with a much smaller power load so the lights don't get continuous power. Or, maybe more likely in a vehicle, they are supposed to run on 24V power and your truck is giving them 12V power, so they are flickering 1/2 the speed they're supposed to, making the off/on noticeable.

Anyway, long story short, if you know this you can figure out how to make LEDs work, even if you don't have a kit...

Hey I just installed the exnonpro LED headlights in my 2005 ram and they work awesome when my lights are turned on (I have manual lights), but when my lights are in the off position or daytime position the Less still turn on and there's an insanely loud buzzing sound inside the truck?!
