I have no problem with the idle up just this is the first diesel I've owned since my Uncle Sam used to let me drive & work on some of his cool toys and just wanting to wrap my head around whats going on and why :c:

All late 04 and up trucks cam with idle feature in the ECU. It has to be turned on and activated to be available. Most autos were done as a part of dealer prep, a lot of manuals were nto done because it needs a clutch switch and an ECU pin grounded.

No 3 cylinder high idle on a CR. The lope you hear is the ECU splitting the injection event into 2 equal parts to aid warm up.
