Thats kind of the luck of the draw when it comes to taking out the original exhaust system. Sometimes theyre easy and other times theyre a PITA, bloody knuckles and all.
But, its worth it for sure. "Bombing" your truck is always fun and the learning experience is a bonus. Hope he doesnt get frustrated. Its all good!:tu:

I think he did get frustrated the first evening, when he started on it. I kinda think it's funny, though. He wants to be an engineer. I have hated engineers ever since I first started working on my own vehicles. I tell every engineer I meet that I hate engineers. LOL. So, I like that he can feel my pain.

He talked my wife into buying him a grinder. I said, he should have gotten a sawzall. We were talking about it, and I told him to go buy a cordless sawzall. My wife said, NO! You are not gonna buy a cordless one! Haha. I have been trying to get one for years. I thought maybe her baby could pull it off. But, I guess I went about it wrong.

Poor fellar. I have most of my tools with me at work. I am not home much.

Well OK. I can see where the frustration comes in. It always helps to have the right tools for the job. He will certainly be all-smiles when the project is complete. Been there-done that! Improvise, adapt, and overcome, it will get done. :choochoo:

Improvise, adapt, and overcome. Those words ring a bell. You a leatherneck?

Bigg Redd 09-25-2012 09:52 PM

Nah, retired POPO with alot of time on my hands.

Well... That's like a secondary motto of the Marine Corps. I've heard it a time or two. Haha.

I hear ya! Its my mindset when working on various projects. Otherwise, I wouldnt give a sh*t. :c:

i have a MBRP 5" turbo back with a muffler and its not loud in the cab

retread225j 09-30-2012 04:53 PM

if down pipe and piping in front of muffler are all good. just delete cat go with something like the mbrp quiet tone muffler and add tail pipe. no drone in cab quiet when cruising and will talk to ya when on it. plus cheaper than buying whole system.:tu: i'm running this on my 06

I have a 4" MBRP. It was on the truck when I got it. Love the sound for the most part but it could be quieter in the cab. Of course I only want to hear it when the windows are rolled down.:w2:
