Just my two cents I had the same problem minus the codes and it turned out I had an stuck injector I ended up replacing them all I got all six for 198 Bucks on ebay and they were Bosch OEM's can you tell if you exhaust is sputtering at acceleration Even with the stuck injector my truck ran like it did minus looking like the riogrande steam train. And sounding like a power joke.

Well here I am back again///???!!!!&&#@ Have done everything that I can at this stage. Replaced cam sensor, crank sensor, 2 injectors. Nothing has made a bit of difference in the smoking. I have even cracked open every injector thinking maybe I was over looking a bad one. Nothing, other than making it miss. I am also getting fuel in my oil. Like i said, showing no codes. Deep dionastic came up with fuel regulator circuit open. Starts good and runs good. Is this telling me I need to pull the pump?? Replaced it app. a year ago.

Of your getting diesel I your oil it can only be one of two things onto ur truck. It's either a bad cross over tube, or an injector isn't sealing off completely. You need to pull all six injectors and have them tested. And check cross over tubes make sure the ends look good. I know 98's and some 99's you're supposed to replace the cross over tube when you pull an injector. Could by where the fuel is coming from. But id deff look into having them checked.

I have nothing productive to add, but still would like to point out that it's refreshing to have someone asking for less smoke for a change.

I am getting fuel into the oil, because it is running that rich on fuel. I even tried taking the return like loose at the pump to make sure of the back pressure and it changes nothing other than pumping a lot of fuel on the ground.

You don't get diesel in your oil from running to rich. It's one of the two ways I mentioned. If you think im full of shit, IDC. Im doin this to help. It's free advice. Take it or leave it.

BSutton 08-26-2012 01:57 PM

GreenGoblin, I don't think your full of shit, and the advice is greatly appriciated. I'm just trying to get a grasp on the whole thing, and what ever is causing all of it. My biggest problem is I am approx: 175 miles to the nearest injection shop that can test my injectors.

biged681985 08-26-2012 02:01 PM

IMO, I would pull the injectors out and send them to have checked. Or just get a full set of new ones, and new cross over tubes. That would fix which ever is the problem

RanchhandTCR 08-26-2012 04:34 PM

diesels dont run rich?? its all off High Pressure Fuel wich is created by the Injection Pump, once the pressure is off the pop valve in the injector closes, now if its stuck open because of any debris Anything larger than .009" will cause injector failure. I sugest pulling your injectors and getting them checked you can reuse your cross over tubes no more than twice. its easy to pull injectors You can watch a video on youtube of how to do it Look up 24 Valve Injector Removal. I seriously think you have an injector issues.
