ABS Booster
Pulled in the driveway and turned off the truck and a buzzing noise was still on... Located the noise, and it was coming from the ABS booster controller. I unplugged it and the ABS and Brake light came on. I still have brakes just no ABS, any help with this matter will greatly appreciated... Can i just replace the motor part of it or do i have to replace the thing!
It's on a 2000 quad cab, SLT |
more than likely, the whole unit.

I just unpluged mine on my work truck and the brakes still work fine just no abs.

How long does it buzz for? I have something under my dash that buzzes/humms for a couple minutes after the key is turned off, then it stops.

RAWilliams,
If it is the ABS it will continue buzzing or running. The only way to stop it is by pulling the fuze. At least that was the case with mine. Xforce, I found one from an online salvage yeard on crackBay for a decent price. Mine lasted 269 thousand miles, so the used part came from a truck with 188k on the clock. From what I understand you need to have the unit set with your VIN once you put it on. I have not done that to mine and it has worked just fine. Until I was able to find one, I just ran it without the fuze. Still have brakes, but no ABS....so be aware. Hope this helps. oudive |
