47re help needed

allright guys, heres the deal. i had a 98 12 valve 47re in my truck for a while, ran ok but slipped really bad and the selenoids didn't function right. found a built auto out of a 2002 and threw that in, everythign works awesome! but one problem. the trans temp sensor reads wrong and won't let it go into overdrive or lockup, says its overheating after about 1 minute of driving. i have a guage and its not even at 100 degrees yet. i have heard of soldering in a 1000k ohm resistor, and from what i can tell its the violet wire on tha main harness but what do i solder it to? is this the right wire? any help is apreciated. and like i said other than the no overdrive and lockup all other bugs have been worked out. drives awesome down low, can't keep the tires from spinning anymore lol. if i am wrong on the resistor let me know too

might be a rout to go, any more info on what wires you had to install the switch into? did they go to ground i already have a torque converter lockup switch in and it just goes to ground but what about the overdrive?

it just goes to ground, i would have to look this weekend at my 99 and see.but since i dont have a crank signal my trans wouldnt shift or lock up so thats y i went that route.
