i hear ya on the money thing that's effected a lot of what i've done with my truck. Then get a Fummins :tu: i'm just not a dodge guy. have you tried craigslist? if somebody's sellin a smart just go and "test it out" lol

craigslist isnt a bad idea. I will do a little searching. I still got to go back to the dealer to get them to fix the speedo so hopefully they will be able to cut it on this time.

in a perfect world the dodge dealer would be able to service your full dodge truck but they are a chrysler product. if they cant do everything definitely check out craigslist. good luck with your truck. i hope it works out for ya.

You dont need to go to the dealer - you can buy a True Speed calibrator.

i believe the dealer already did it and got it wrong if i read correct. and it sounds like money is and issue when the smarty was discussed so im not sure the speed calibrator would be an option

OP,

I do agree on the whole craigs list, or even in the classifieds. I found myself a Smarty for a good price. I saw about three of them when I was looking for one. It did take me awhile and I had to search to some outlying areas. My high idle kicked on today, before I started the truck my thermo was reading 19 degrees. I have a thermo that is stuck into my drivers A/C vent so during the summer I can monitor the A/C output. But anyways from what I have heard it maybe like 80-100 dollars for the dealer to do unless you got the hook up. If you do not have a code reader, then that is 80-100 bucks. So worst case there is 200 dollars, another 250 and you could have a used Smarty. Just throwing that out there, at least that is how I figured it so I could justify dropping the coin.

it cost me 78 bucks at the dealer. Since I already paid that I think they should fix it. I am still going to try to find a cheap smarty though.

Take a look at this and print of the TSB. Take it with you to the dealer and tell them that they are phukin retarded.

dizzy,

78 is not bad, alot cheaper than what I had been qouted. I sure hope that they do you right and get it squared away for you.

All I had to do with my 6.4 was hook up the pto wire to one of my aux switches and whoo high idle. Is it possible you could put a togle switch in and wire something up? I have seen it done on a d-max.
