55 on the gauge thats what it said to fill it to Couple question, Does the compressor clutch kick in and out? Is the condenser free of debris? I had an issue with my radiator plugged due to the previous owner not having a hose clamp on the overflow hose. After removing the rad and cleaning to allow air flow, I had way better A/C. |
The previous owner of my truck had some Orifice pipe replaced?!!? It plugged up and stopped blowing cold
Absolutely! If that plugged up it wont allow any freon to flow into the evaporator. It's function it to allow a controlled amount of freon into the evaporator to provide a constant flow under most conditions.

Find somebody with a manifold to check the low and high pressure on your system. If you had a charge of zero to begin with you might have some air or moisture in the system. If so you need to put a vacuum pump on it to remove them and start over.

just a heads up next time you or anyone else is gonna do this. at my work (jiffylube) once the a.c. system has been recharged, if it does not cool down to 55* F the refil is free. but if it does cool down then its 99.99 plus tax.
do not put any freon in that says with leak sealer it never works and all its gona do is plug up little orfices in your system and cause alot more problems
