APPS TPS Okay to drive?
I have the P0122 Code on a 1998(.5 I understand now) and I am sure the APPS sensor is shot. I am deciding if I am going to order an OEM one or get one from Timbo. How far can I drive it or should I not at all? Thanks for the help.

I just put the Timbo in a few days ago and so far so good. It's a lot cheaper, easier to install and seems to be a slid design so take that for what it's worth comin from somebody with less then 100 miles on it yet.
As far as drivin it, that's a coin toss. It could lean out the fuel delivery and cause some problems there or it could go completely out and you limp home at idle speed or it could run just fine. For the money though, order up that Timbo and then you don't have to worry about it. For future reference though so there is no confusion, if you have these sensors then you have a 24V 1998.5 and not a 12V 1998. |
Drive it as far as you want. Just realize that it could dead pedal at any time. Like when your pulling out in front of a 80,000 truck and oncoming traffic.

I ordered on from timbo as well that was 2 months ago and have had no problems what so ever has been great and alot cheaper than the OEM's. And yea drive it but be ready for the dead peadal. :scare2:

Cruise control bypasses the APPS. makes it drive a lot better.
