Do you pull the Sleeve out once the oil seal is on the Crankshaft, or does it stay in?

It stays it is the new wear surface for the seal.

Thats what did wrong. I replaced one on a friends truck, it still leaks and that would be the prob. Great write up and awesome pics.

Nice write up, have a few questions for you Jet. It looks as if the motor is still in the pickup, how did you remove the oil pan? Also why did you take the rear cover off to install the new seal? Just curious I am fixing to replace my seal.
