I take it that was on a 4X4. A friend of mine just did it on a 03 he said the same thing! I heard there is a conversion to cone bearings instead of the sealed bearing Hub.

I havent even had my truck a year yet and put 3 on driver side and 1 on passenger. Dont get them from autozone they're not any good.:argh::bat:

this is what i'm thinking of doing especially if you might end up doing 4 in less than a year!

there has to be a way to rebuild that hub. obviously someone makes the bearings and seals. therefore someone has to sell it, right? any takers?

Just make sure that you use the anti seize. It was a mother flower taking mine off to do the ball joints. I picked the truck up for a good price and it had 268k, at 281k i changed the ball joints. used the anti seize and two months later, had a axle seal leak. This time the hub removal was smooth and less painful.

i got it straight it from the stealership. i hope i never have to take it off again. but i agree with crazycooter there has to be a way to rebuild them.
