I think what you are experiencing is the touque control (touque management)for the autos.Builds boost then falls on its face.This was put into place to save the transmission.

Your welcome.You can buy a smarty to take care of the touque management,but beware if you have a stock trans it wont hold up well.You can set it on a low setting and when you address the trans you can turn it up.

Sorry to hijack the thread, but was wondering if the torque management feature of the Smarty actually works on the 2nd gen trucks. Last I had heard, and it has been a while, it was somewhat hit and miss. Last I tried it on my '02 auto, it did nothing for me... :dang:
