You can use a hobbs switch to bring the pump on when oil pressure comes up, also the factory PCM connection if wired to a relay will prevent the pump from running during startup

I'd say pull the superchips off and see if that make's a difference. I'll bet you are getting to much timing. A buddy of mine has a p-pump 24v that is set very aggressive on the timing and it doesn't start very good, has to crank on it for a bit, but once it is started it runs great. Just take a few minutes and pull the superchips and see what that does. Probably the cheapest fix if that's it, then buy a smarty to stack and set it with no timing.

thanks alot... does anyone have a smarty for a 01 at a decent price.. also is anyone looking for superchips... if he ends up getting smarty he will have to sell superchips..

For the 01 I would recommend a Quadzilla Adrenaline, Edge Comp or Edge Juice with Attitude.

really? beside what this guys says my buddy ran a relay to his airdog with a switch in the cab that drops the pressure and his truck cranks fine this guy is kinda off back when i had a vp i wanted all the pressure i could get its a sick feeling when your racing and drain a vp you want all the pressure you can get or else keep a 3/4 in your door pannel you drain em then you buy them lol real talk

Oh really? Thats why I made 839 1500 + on a 2 dyno jets and 2 mustangs ALL SET AT 15LBS of fuel pressure?
