oil in radiator
i've got a 1999 dodge 2500 24 valve cummins 4wd. problem i have is oil is gettin into the radiator. done had the head gasket replaced. thinkin now its the oil cooler. any suggestions?

is it an auto or 5speed. replacing the headgasket may not solve the issue if it isnt installed corectly. i had to replace mine 2 times because of this isseu. highly doubt its the oil cooler them do go out as often but if you need one i have 2 laying around becuase i thought the same thing
|
its an automatic.took it to a supposivly certified diesel mechanic and he replaced the head gasket had the head shaved back down. it wasnt off by much. 1,000.00 later i'm in the same boat. now told it sounds like oil cooler.

what color is it? if its a grey color its oil pulling the oil cooler aint to bad to have it pressure tested but like i said they dont go out as often as one would think, unless you have a cracked block since it s a 24v posibly a 53 block

53's only crack exterior water jacket right?
First things first pressure check your cooling system , The leak wont be hard to find! |
not necesarily there was a guy hear last year that had his crack between a wter and oil jacket, but yes most are the extearier walls
|
Never Heard of one cracking on the inside. I would be 100% positive that it wasnt a 53, and was in no way affiliated with it being a 53. The only thin casting portion of the 53 was in the exterior water jacket!

its a pancake looking color. any ideas where i can pickup another oil cooler?
