Airdog install gone bad!!!!!
 

Hey I just installed an AD 100 and install went easily. I installed fuel into stock fuel canister. I primed system but truck will not start. I ran code and got P1688 which is Internal Fuel Injection Pump Controller Failure. What does this mean? Is the injection pump dead? I did bleed lines to injection pump, do I need to bleed injectors? Please help!!

Usually P1688 means that your injector pump is dead. I would clear it and see if it comes back.

Yes, you will likely have to bleed injectors. Start with #1, 3 & 5 ** BE CAREFUL AS THE SPRAYING FUEL IS VERY HIGH PRESSURE **

If the truck was runnin good when you replaced the LP I'd bet on havin a massive amount of air in the system that just needs to be bleed off. Just keep on bumpin that starter till you gettin steady flow through the injectors and ten tighten em down.

If you haven't already done it would also start checking for air at the fuel cannister and work your way through the system. Go from the cannister to the outgoing line on the injector pump and then to the injectors. Do one injector at a time and start with the easy ones in the front. If you can get the first couple to flow fuel it normally will get the truck started. When you think you have fuel there also hold your foot to the floor on the go pedal while your crankin to allow the air to flow through the system and out.

I would bleed it , BUT P1668 usually indicates complete pump failure. Fuel's made it to the inner workings of the pump. What was your pressure before the pump , Were you having problems?

My truck threw a 1688 when I put the engine in,did not bleed it enough.
you might get the air out of it and get it started...

I had a pressure of 8psi at idle and 4 with any touch of the pedal prior to LP change. Now I have 15 PSI before IP. The truck was running perfectly before I did the install. Do I need to be turning the engine over to bleed injector lines or will bumping the starter do?

turn it over. If after about 10 mintues of bleeding the lines your not seeing fuel or it's not trying to fire it's time for a pump. Most likely already the case. The damage to the pump was already done, when you got that pressure back up there it showed the damage!

I tried clearing code but my superchip code reader won't, I don't know if it is the reader or the truck computer won't let it be cleared.

Well I just tried to bleed the lines, but nothing came out. All you have to do is crack the line some, you don't have to totally take the injector line off do you? Is there any diagnostic other than what I have done to be sure it is the injection pump?

It would be the code reader. You'll need an actual scanner to clear it! It will clear some soft codes but not hard codes!

why would you put fuel in your stock fuel canister ? Ditch your stock canister and run your fuel line to the injection pump
