holley blacks suck, same as the blue ones not designed for diesel use and they burn up quick

Ok, thanks for the input. I am going to use a cheapo for now, my stock pump quit. I only use it every other weekend right now, so hopefully I can save enough money to buy a FASS shortly.:w2:

I would like to interject a side note about holley black pumps. I currently have 2 of them in series, with the little brass screens removed (thick fuel you know) and they are running fine after a year and a half of almost constant use. I put about 40K miles a year on my rig. I have a solid 12 psi to the injection pump and have completely eliminated the stock lift pump from the fuel filter cannister and replaced it with an adapter plate I made from stainless. I have a pdf detailing my work and I assure you, they are cheap, easy to come by at your local Kragen or Chief and on the road, I have one spare blue in my tool box just in case I tear both of them off on something under me.
I like the idea of having them "in the wind" so they're easy to change out if I should get stuck for reason. Have you thought of how hard it'll be to change your pump int eh 'field'? Just my opinion. Take it or leave it. db:w2: |
It would not be that bad just a few bolt and connectors nothing 2 speed wrenchs cant handle... just depends like everything else just depends.

it wont be that hard for me, i still have a working factory lift pump still mounted, all id have to is hook the fuel line back up to the factory draw straw and rehook the wires up, i ran holley blues several times and after burning through one after the other on my 98, i wasnot going to mess with them on my 99, so i went fass, 145k later no problems or drop in pressure

Its Easly Understandable that $500 is alot to come up with all of a sudden , it was for me thats why i kept throwing junk $65 parts at it well each time one of the $65 pumps went out it took a little bit of the life bar down on the VP44 , with the last pump 1 15psi Cater and 1 9 Psi Carter ran in series , It was a Flawless Victory in killing my VP44 , $1200 later here i am with a new VP44 and no Fuel Pump , Like shooting both feet at once , Now i have an Air Dog and i wish for you sake and most of the others that there was a Less than $100 fix but there just isnt
