Gonna Cry

well I went to go use my truck today to pick up the kids from school, been using the car all week and saw that there was oil under truck. checked under and saw it had been comming from rear output seal from t-case, ok no big deal, got kids then went under to check out t-case level when we got home. got the plug almost all the way out and oil started leaking past threads :nshock: but not the nice red atf4 but blackish. SHIT, got the allen wrench for the tranny, removed plug, insert finger, insert finger deeper :alone2: well there's an oil film in the bottom. drop shafts, skid plate, drain blackish oil, pull t-case,more oil in void, check out seal, nice and brittle, shake output shaft and chech out bearing, put in new seal, put every thing back together, new oils, take for test drive, check oil levels, go in house ,double capt morgan spiced, and sit and wonder how long tranny has been out of oil and how much damage there is :argh:

What Tranny? :dm:

Dont Worry about it , You did the best you could

Worrying your self about things out of your control is the fast lane to depression. Get in your Truck and Thrash the hell out of it , if it breaks then it was weak if it dont then you have nothing to worry about any more :)

wildbill 09-05-2008 09:02 PM

On good way of putting it DM!!!

stkdram55 09-05-2008 09:08 PM

such a nice guy that DM is:tttt::run:

2500ho2 09-05-2008 10:34 PM

yup I agree with you DM, now drinking scotch, trouble is is now hunting season and I got drawn ror calling season for moose in wmu 350 which is north of swam hills and some of the roads(if you call them that) are a tad entertaining to get to where my hunting camp is, I'll run her till it breaks and put an auto in it:U:

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

ror should be for, putting the kids to bed now, because they are laughing at me for swearing at the compter how much is a nv-5600 or a rebuild kit can't spell time to quit

stkdram55 09-06-2008 12:41 AM

for new bearings and synchros and to have a shop do it your looking at probably $1000-1200:humm::argh:

97cummins 09-06-2008 02:37 AM

That sucks.

Bosshogg 09-06-2008 06:01 AM

Dont go to an auto, you will truly miss your 5600. or if you want an auto truck, trade for one, theres a ton more autos than sticks out there

bigdaddydiesel 09-06-2008 06:27 AM

I look at things like that this way... When something like that goes, it is usually a good excuse to GO BIG!!!
ie: "But Honey, the tranny blew!!! I need a new one all together!!! I cannot help if the new one will cost $7500!!!!":w2::w2::w2:

stkdram55 09-06-2008 06:36 AM

you seem to have experience with that, is that your pitch with your new shop...but honey the old shop blew....:lol88:

E2theRock2 09-06-2008 09:56 AM

:humm: and with the maid uniform

2500ho2 09-06-2008 06:09 PM

well I'm going to be nice to my tranny and it going to be nice to me and get me through hunting seasen then I'm going to rebuild it this winter, I agree with bosshog, and anyway I'm not particularly fond of auto's and it harder to make the turbo bark with an auto

CumminsCrazed 09-07-2008 04:22 PM

why do you want to bark your turbo, thats really bad or it and you may need a new turbo by this winter if ya go around barkin it at everyone

2500ho2 09-08-2008 04:06 PM

ok bark probably wasn't the right word to use, how about spool up through the gears

Lucas Amick 09-08-2008 07:22 PM

i'm going to be mean to my tranny it needs to be rebuild even thought i can squeak tires while pullin the boat!!!
