Pulled the alternator, tested it and it was gonzo so I picked up a new duralast which should clear it up the electrical issue. Noticed I've got a medium power steering fluid leak but have no idea where it's coming from since it has basically covered everything underneath. Are there any places where it most commonly leaks?

What kind of filter would you recommend without me having to break the bank? And that I could pick up at a local parts store?

Right on. Agreed with the above statement about the K&N or any other oiled filter. I run an Amsoil Nanofiber with a pre filter covering and am happy with it and the price.
I got mine from the local Amsoil dealer. |

About 40 something bucks if I remember correctly. And 15 or so for the prefilter.

Sounds good then. I'll be hollering at my amsoil dealer then. However is that setup for longevity, performance, or both?

I stand corrected............

So would I just remove the top part of the box and pop that filter on as a cold air intake?
|
Sorry. I assumed you had a cold air intake so no. You can either do a BHAF like I did (search it and you'll find a ton of info), keep your stock airbox and put a stock filter or an Amsoil one in it, or buy a cold air intake with a dry filter element. The stock airbox setup is kinda restrictive. Anything is better than a K&N.
