Frozen lines????? Help please
It got cold down here last night so I plugged it in but obviously didn't help the truck crank this morning and died after about 3 seconds and all it does is try to crank but can't. I took my fuel filter off and watched as my buddy turned the key and no fuel came through so does this mean the lines are froze or what? Radiators full and everything. I'm out of options and any comments would
Be appreciated. And if it is the lines I need to know what to do next. 2001 cummins 5.9 24 valve. |
Can you hear the lift pump come on if you bump the starter?
If I remember right no you can't here it just the grid heater.
I'd probably start there than cus even if the lines are froze the lift pump should still try and feed the filter housing with fuel I would think
Yep I second the lift pump, if no fuel is getting to your fuel filter housing then the problem is most likely your lift pump
Mannnnn alright I found a FASS for about $230 heard anything bad about them??
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- And it's more than likely the fuel pump for sure? |
Nothing bad about fass that I know of do you have a fuel pressure gauge
No just boost and egt
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- And are the pumps in the tank or outside On these trucks. Still new to these diesels! |
I'd get one don't wanna fry the injection pump they are pretty pricey have you tested to see if the pump comes on
How would I test that? I just took my cover of my filter housing and bumped the key and no fuel came through the lines.
