Not a bad idea for the shop. What should an average shop cost to test and is there a certain one to send it too or should any shop be able to test?

I actually called the shop your working with last week and inquired on the cost to have it tested, they quoted $150.00 not including shipping to test it. They also said the had a bosch 815, and he didn't struggle to answer that. Not sure that's any indication of anything. I also asked I purchased a pump from them what would happen if I suspected it bad, he explained I would pay the bench fee to confirm it was in fact the pump. Seemed like a nice enough guy and seemed to have confidence. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt before going another route. If you do request to swap pumps make sure you get the new one before shipping the old one back, or write down the serial numbers off the current pump! This will prevent you from getting the same pump and chasing tail (if it actually is the pump looking for another issue)

I would call Industrial Injection and see what they would charge to test the pump.

So pull the head? Or continue and swap pumps. I am a bit confused with it.

mysterync 03-23-2014 05:45 PM

No confusion intended. Definitely swap pumps, I'm just saying don't jump to conclusions and give them the opportunity to respond. I don't see enough evidence to pull the head at this point.

Earlier on when you said start the truck with the ip unplugged, what should the reaction be. Had battery problems for a while and got around to it. Mine just cranked with no start

Did you power the pump when cranking? Search vp44 standalone.
