the vgt on a 6.7, are they mechanical "drive presure to open the turbo, a spring to close it and boost to balance it out" <huntinguy>

i see alot of guys putin 3200 Gsprings, 60hp Injectors, and a timing bump to the tune of 3/16. I understand the, fuel needs to atomize better idea but dose this stuff help or hurt?

And finely how got the wining ball team in the world of turbo’s … that helps mpg

With all the changes I've done to my 91, it still gets the same fuel mileage even when towing. If I lead footed it all the time, it would probably be worse. It all about fuel control, ie your right foot.

What are some recommendations for good torque converters...?

I would add 3200 gov spring and fuel pin turn to the list.

I got all my gauges figured out except my tach “a work in progress” I’m looking at 4-6 straight pipe and a Denny T stage 2 pin, 366 spring, an hx40 turbo, upper & lower gasket set. The trouble I’m having is on the subject of injectors – BDs high flow xXx60hp, Lucas PODs, Dynamite 80hp or maybe some other make. Is there a water tight review or a rant on what’s the right ones for power torque and mpg.
Just trying to mod the old girl be sensible and have some fun.

in my opionion, and i like others two cents, when you have an under powered vehicle, a first gen, at a whopping 160 hp, and you make small fuel adjustments, and a K&N filter and exhaust to get her breathing, you make better mpgs. if you make the engine capible of pulling itself, your mpgs will rise, but when your go pedal is close to the carpet your mpgs will go down quick! my bone stock truck with a 518 was getting 13/14 mpg. i turned my fuel pin, put a k&n on and some diesel kleen in the tank and i've got upwards of 18/20 mpg. thats with an h1c making 8lbs of boost, stock injectors, and original lift pump with 212k miles on it.
