injector disassembly
I just ordered a set of injector nozzles and was wondering if anyone had any advice or links to literature or videos on how to take apart the injectors?

Those instructions are for the electronic injector used on the 6.7ltr injector.
In our injector, the puck is substantially larger and easily handled. It sits on top of the spring inside the body's bore. Under that spring are the shims used to adjust the injector POP pressure. Those shims quantity may number with one or more. They'll be of different thicknesses. You can mix how they stack in a given injector. DO NOT mix this injector's shims with that injectors shims. Work with one injector at a time. Having said that, don't be afraid to completely disassemble the entire injector and clean everything thoroughly. Just keep an eye on the shims when removed so as not to loose any as some can be very thin. Pay attention how the parts are stacked and put it back like you found it. :pca1: GREEN BOX= Puck RED BOX= Spring BLACK BOX= Shim(s) Below the blue box is the actual nozzle. how do you check? and ajust the pop presure? and for a budget build is it better to just do nozzles or do completely new sticks? im looking for right around 250-300 hp eventually and i am on a tight budget right now thanks,

thanks bc847 super helpfull you wouldn't happen to have the torque spec for tightening the nozzle back on.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- you need a pop pressure tester like in the pic above, to adjust you have to add or subtract shims or replace the spring if it's worn out. As far as which is cheaper nozzles are usually cheaper, I just picked up a set on ebay for $77 |
how does replacing the nozzle with a bigger one compare to buying a bigger injector?

not as much power, i think when you get bigger injectors they run bigger nozzles and bigger springs on the inside.

so what if you were to run a bigger nozzle and change out the spring? would it be cost effective or would it be about the same as totally new injectors?

that i don't know but tracking down the right spring might be difficult/
