how about some more info on how you did the sight glass and pump. I considered installing a pump on mine with a cooler.

Sight glass comes from Mcmaster-Carr. Make sure to mount it so it doesn't leak, and high up on the PTO cover. If you can see air, it's low. Pump is an old style gasser electric, 5-6psi, available on eBay for typically around $20. Sometimes NOS ones show up, if you're patient. But really, any old pump would probably do. Doesn't need to make alot of pressure or run all the time. I have mine switched and run them once or twice a week for maybe ten minutes at a time - just enough to keep the sump turned over and clean. These models don't seem to mind pumping oil and hold up just fine for occasional use. They've been in service on this truck for 2-3 years now. I have another one on the Gear Vendor to a remote reservoir that pumps 75w-85w Syntorq through that thing:

why couldn't you just cut out a piece of plastic the same as the cover itself and just put it on???

I guess that just depends on how you feel about a piece of plastic holding the oil in a hot, vibrating transmission. :w2:
