worth it?
i want a 4x4 i havent owned a vehicle that wasnt untill now. how hard is it to convert from 2wd to 4wd on a 93 ext cab long bed? if i can get the springs, axle ect... would it be cheaper trying to find a 4x4 or to convert?

i think cheaper trying to find the 4x4. Conversions seem to tedious to me. Leaves room for error too but thats just me

Yeah sell the 2wd and buy a 4wd. The short list of parts needed....
Plus LOTS of misc parts.... If you got a donor 4wd truck for pretty much nothing and your 2wd is in AWESOME shape then I would think about it. Otherwise I would sell the 2wd and buy a nice 4wd. |
ok s i have another question then i traded for the 2wd so how much round about are they worth and how much is a 4x4 were lookin at big price difference right?
|
$2000 - $3000 for a clean 2WD and $5000 - $6000 for a clean 4WD.

i got my 4x4 1st gen for $1500 i havent had a prob. Then again its not so clean (body and interior wise) but i like it. Dad just bought his single cab short bed from Taos New Mexico and paid around 10 grand

What's the basis for doing the 4x4 swap? Is your current truck in excellent shape? If it is maybe consider swapping the body on a trashed 4x4. Either way, if you want to do a swap, I think your going to end up buying a 4x4 truck for the parts, buying them separately wouldn't be very cost effective. Not sure what your goal for use is, but a slammed 2wd drag truck would be pretty sick!:tu:
