new stearing stabalizer is juat a bandaid to the issue put it up and stads and do some fanesing with the front end see were you get movement that shouldnt be

its real hard to tell where it is coming from, i dont really feel it in the steering wheel per say it just feel like its in the entire truck

lift the font off the groud enough to get a crowbar under the tire lift up see if there is any movemet if so ball joints. grab the tire with both hards try and move it back and forth anyway you can if you got alot of movemet wheel bearings. if you turn the wheen with the tires on the ground and you see the frontend move before the tires do leaf spring bushings. this was real common on 2nd gens but 1st gen do get it some times

did you check the u-joints? just wondering cuz that would shake bad then taper off at higher speeds.

Bent rim, bad balancing of tires, defective tire, broken belt, are all possibilites also what brand and size of tires are they ? Do you have someone elses tires and rims you could borrow to eliminate a tire/rim problem? :c:

does not make it worse when hitting a bmp or turning ive tried going into turns hard to see if it will go away and it doesn't. tires are brand new, faactory width and height except fitted on a 17" tire/rim setup. I would check the u-joints except i honestly have no idea what im looking for. I know where and what it looks like just unsure of what in particular to look for. I'm probably about to take it to a specialist here in augusta who is fairly well known and respected for everything 4x4 related. Not the cheapest by no means but if theres a problem he can figure it out.

Did you get it figured out? My 2wd drive is shaking above 90 km/h.

i have the exact same problem on my d350. i have tried a number of things myself. i also have worn out shocks. i plan on replacing soon. definately would like to know what you find out. thanks:pca1:

I'm not 100% sure but i have an idea. I stuck half my body out of the window the other day when i felt it start shaking and noticed the front wheel had some hop in it then looked at the rear wheel and it looked smooth. had my wife drive as i looked out the passenger side...same thing. Took it to a specialist shop and they jacked it up and spun the tires up with the tire skimmer...once again rear wheels look good while the front wheels are hopping. They SAID it was because they were not centered, however i find this hard to believe when the lugs are conecentric and care was taken when mounting these rims. The process was done for all 4 wheels and again repeated after i saw the hop going down the road with no effect. i'm going to swap front rims to back to eliminate a possible bent rim(highly doubt) then going to have balance rechecked. I will say this, when the tire was spun up with the skimmer, the hub did not move. i could of put a dial indicator on the hub and it would have only moved a couple of thousanths so as much as i may deny it it is probably something in the rim/wheel. i will post more as soon as i get around to elimination. shift work has me tied up right now.

Springs are prolly not the cause...spring bushings, maybe. Is the truck lifted? Does it run smooth if you try and accelerate through it or shake really bad if you hit a bump just right? Dana 60 or 44? 60 has king pins (fairly easy rebuild) 44 has ball joints (IMO harder to replace). I have to put a track br (panhard bar...think 79 ford f150) and build cross over steering for mine soon......I really think the biggest cause of the poor steering in these 4wd trucks is the lousy Chevy type drag link that goes from the steering box back to the steering knuckle. It looses leverage ant the TREs don't like to be run at extreme angle, even with the drop pitman arm.
