find out what the max they will pay you and not total it if you want to fix it yourself..... see if it is worth it. then see what the amount they will give you if it is totaled, then find out what they want for it if you buy it back and see how much you will have left over and see if it is worth while.
BTW if it is "Totaled" and a salvage title is issued then you have to ( in Georgia )get it rebuilt by a licensed automotive re-builder and take it to get inspected by the state to be issued a "Clean" title. this cost money even if you know someone. so i would see how much they would pay me without totaling it. |
either way. I can drop the drivetrain into my GMC offroad rig..
I have a lot invested in the truck new parts wise and I could sell for more than I will get from them i'm sure. ohio you can "rebuild" yourself, just provide reciepts for any major part replacements, shate highway patrol looks at it for $50 and you get reissued title. of course the adjuster isn't in today... found out via. website lol |
wow... all I gotta say is... they dont make em like they used to. the dodge and ford took if very well. dodge the deer, ram the duramax
|
Hope you get it figure out. Thats why I have a big front bumper. Hit 2 deere at the same time about 3 years ago and didn't leave a mark.:tu:
|
i've hit 2 deer total. one in my 96 camaro. chipped the paint. no damage. second in my F-350 with my blocker bars on. chipped the paint off one of the bars. no damage

Hell after I totaled my first 1st gen they bided it out. They said I needed a salvage license and it took a month to get. Ripped me off cuz i couldnt even get it back.

when my father totalled his 93 w350 the insurance company had someone who wanted to take the truck and my father had to physically stand infront of the truck to block the flat bed and eventually the guy gave up because my dad was for dam sure not letting the truck go. it was a bent frame from being t-boned at his work parking lot on drivers door. truck was repaired for 2000$ with full paint!!
