Starter Manufacturer
What is the better brand of starter Nippon Denso, NSA, or Bosch? What one would be the best to go with?
i cant answer your question because ive never had all the different brands. but i would recommend getting one at either oreilly or napa auto parts because then you get a lifetime warranty. doesnt really matter how good it is if you get a free one for the rest of your life
hey pewder you can save some money and do it yourself theres a place that will sell you the parts to do it on here i will look for it if you are interested :humm: http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm check this out and see if its what you want

Well I think it would be more like the bearings in mine, it would crank over a couple of times and then seemed as if it would just stop. So I don't think that the contacts would be the issue. And their prices for a new starter are freakin crazy expensive! So napa and or oreilly have lifetimes? Guess I'm gonna have to stop and price those guys out.
ya they should thats why i bought mine from napa. so ill never have to buy one again
Hmmm... I'll have to swing by and talk to em' tomara.

Looked on there and don't see any that have a lifetime, it's either a 12 month or a 2 year.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- And Oreilly doesn't show one on their site. |

Thats the same part # of the one that I just took out of the truck. Guess I found where it must have come from. Sucks tho, I would have to have it shipped here.
Online Auto Parts and Auto Accessories Store at CSK Auto And when you said Oreilly this is what I thought of since checker just turned into Oreilly here. Guess I'll go talk to them and see if they can get it. |
you gotta use the oreilly site now. all of checker schucks and kragen sites have been down lately
They must not have updated all the stuff yet. But good to know. I'll have to check the store and see what they can get here. But I heard a lot of bad about the checker rebuilt stuff.
than go with the napa one. thats the one i have and ive never had any problems with their units
NipponDenso makes good electrical parts. They make all the electric stuff for Toyotas and I aint never had a problem with any of it.
Well I picked one up from Oreilly, $130 and a life time warranty. Bout the cheaper price I've seen but not even the Napa did lifetime, they only have a 3yr.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Just heard bad about the checker stuff, since they are the same thing. But the girl over at ABC that told me that was saying that friend bout one, went threw one a year, then got one from ABC and has had it 3. So the last one he would have gotten was 3 yrs ago, hopefully I just don't have as much trouble with this as that. But hell, lifetime is somethin ya can't beat. And I'm sure i'm gonna have this motor for quite awhile, but as for the truck time will only tell. ha ha |
